The current situation and development direction of infusion packaging

in the "Ninth Five Year Plan" for the development of pharmaceutical packaging in China, packaging material factories are encouraged to use new and high-quality packaging materials. In terms of infusion, using high-quality plastic infusion bottles (bags) to replace glass infusion bottles is the direction of development. With the development and promotion of high-quality plastic infusion containers, the consumption of glass bottles will be gradually reduced. The infusion output of the five preparations (antibiotics, injections, tablets, infusion and capsules) increased by 10% every year, with the output of about 2.2 billion bottles in 2000 and about 3.5 billion bottles in 2010. At present, the development of plastic infusion containers in China is slow, and there is a big gap with the international development level. It is estimated that by the end of 2000, the output of plastic infusion packaging will reach 30% of the total output of infusion packaging, about 650million bags. At present, the vast majority of domestic infusion packaging is still glass bottles. This packaging method has many shortcomings in production, storage, use and so on. There are mainly two problems: one is the pollution caused in the process of manufacturing and clinical use; The second is the secondary damage caused by vitreous particles to the body. China has introduced 6 plastic infusion bottle production lines (for self use by pharmaceutical companies), with a production capacity of about 34million bottles/year. The introduced production lines are distributed in Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Siping. The materials of plastic infusion bottles are mostly PP random copolymers. At present, most plastic infusion bags and blood bags used in China are PVC bags. Because PVC has VCM monomer, it will produce harmful gases during production and incineration to pollute the environment. Cainiao has recycled 200000 cartons in total. Although the PVC used before is medical grade, many additives such as plasticizers must be added in the production of PVC. These additives migrate to the surface of the material, affecting the micro permeability, mold resistance and dust prevention of the material. When encountering special liquid medicine, some substances will dissociate from PVC. Relying on the east wind of this report, it will not only reduce the curative effect of the medicine, but also cause serious infusion reaction, which will do harm to the patient's body. The non PVC composite membrane bag has completely changed the traditional infusion method, making infusion safer. At the same time, because it has good compatibility with a variety of drugs, it is the development direction of infusion packaging. Foreign pharmaceutical packaging manufacturers provide a wide range of multi-layer non PVC composite film, which is specially designed for the packaging of medical products and is suitable for all disinfection methods. The composite material is composed of PE, PP, pet, PA and ionic polymers. It has good mechanical properties, heat sealing and processability, air tightness and moisture resistance, as well as good transparency and gloss. Several major pharmaceutical companies in China have introduced infusion soft packaging filling production lines. For example, Beijing Huajin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has introduced German Seng to regularly check whether there is oil leakage at the host and oil source. The new generation of non PVC composite film sealed infusion bags produced by EW a LD medical packaging company and the automatic filling and sealing integrated assembly line of German plum a T company. This kind of packaging is made of three layers of non PVC film by coextrusion. The forming and sealing of the film are completed in the 100 level clean workshop, without heat source and particles. At the launch meeting of plastic composite film soft bag packaging held by the company, relevant experts said that more than 95% of clinical infusion in developed countries such as Europe and the United States use fully sealed plastic composite soft bags to ISO method, which requires the force value accuracy of the pressure testing machine to be ≯± 1.0%, and its materials meet their national pharmacopoeia standards. In addition to being used for infusion packaging, plastic composite film is also particularly suitable for making inner and outer packaging bags of blood products. The packaging of blood products is divided into internal and external. The internal packaging is in direct contact with blood, which requires high biological performance, good blood compatibility and no hemolysis; The survival rate of pyrogen and blood cells meets the specified requirements, is resistant to high-pressure steam sterilization, and has good mechanical properties. Non PVC plastic composite film can meet all the requirements of blood packaging by changing the formula design of different layers, so it is the best choice for blood packaging
